Picked up a digi compact yesterday, a canon 640. I’m using it with a firmware hack that gives RAW support, a live histo and a couple of other goodies. Shooting is a bit unerving as everything looks clipped, but the RAW in Lightroom looks great - although the move to jpeg soon messes everything up! I bought it as a tool for making montages but I took it around my usual haunts today. I’m still oversharpening everything, but I’ll get the hang of it…

I’ve been playing around on building sites again…

One of the reasons I started shooting my Oasis series was that I found the spaces often genuinely beautiful. But sometimes, they are just plain ugly…

As most people know, I’m a sucker for flowers in the urban environment. I’d love to do a series on ‘Plastic Flowers’ too, but Bee beat me to it .

If you have to work for a living, I guess a really great way would be shooting architecture, of course, only interesting stuff and in a way you like…

It is a source of immense frustration that I seem to get at least as much interest in old work as new stuff. On my old site, this was all hidden and only accessable if linked to from outside - on the new site, it simply isn’t there. However, my agency sent me a book in the post of an image being used, and it has given me a kick to start sorting an edit out to submit to millenium of current work…
